You Never Know Who You're Going To Meet

I had a doctor's appointment today and the young lady who came in to take my *vitals* was new and she told me so. As a matter of fact, she was just as sweet as can be and we actually had a pleasant conversation. I'm chagrined to admit that that's not the norm in this neck of the woods. Most times, you're lucky if you even get acknowledged at all. Her mannerisms and *accent* were familiar, though. Hmmm.

When I asked where she was from, she said: "Oh, about a 45 minute drive North of Syracuse, New York." She was taking my pulse at the time and I know my heart rate must have skipped a couple times because that's exactly what I say when anyone asks where my NY daughter-in-law hails from. Turns out, Jackie - that's her name - is from Sandy Creek, which is not far at all from Altmar - my DILs home and where her parents and family still live. When she asked, I gave her my DILs maiden name and she knew some folk by that name. You just never know.
