Why Children Cry

I do not like when children cry. It usually means they are hurt either physically or emotionally. Although I am pretty compassionate and concerned when kids cry, there is one time when it kind of warms my heart: that is, when they cry because they have to be parted from Granny and Pop Pop.

Yesterday, my Hero and I were visiting Son #1 and his family. When preparing to leave, Josh had a meltdown. He wanted to go with us and it broke my heart because we were not able to take him this time.

Today, Son #2 and his fam stopped by for a visit. When the time came for them to go home, Amelie cried and cried saying: "But I don't want to leave. I don't want to leave!" Again, my heart broke.

So, you say, how can my heart be broken and warmed at the same time? Can't explain it. It's a Granny thing.

aw, we love you! my grandma and i had a special saying--because i was always so sad to leave her or hang up on the phone--we always said, "i love you so much it hurts me!" (it's lyrics to a song) it was our special way of saying goodbye and defeating the tears =)
