Four Days Of Fun

We're back from our mini vaca just south of the Mason-Dixon Line. Saturday and Sunday were spent in Washington, D.C. where we found evidence of spring blooming right in front of one of the Smithsonian museums! Lovely!

We browsed through several of the Smithsonian's museums. Our favorite is the Natural History Museum, specifically the science and geology exhibits. There's a reason I loved geology as a kid. All those rocks and minerals make the most beautiful jewelry!

Here's the Hope Diamond, which is on exhibit at the museum.

We also visited the Air and Space museum and marveled at how three grown men could tolerate the cramped quarters inside the Apollo 11 space moduel. Guess they can't be subject to claustiphobia.

At the Smithsonian's Art Museum, we enjoyed the presidential portrait gallery the most. Did you know that President Garfield was assasinated by a member of his own party because he didn't/wouldn't give him a post on his cabinet?!

Monday and Tuesday we spent antiquing in Frederick and Hagerstown, Maryland, respectively. Hero found some Morgan dollars [coins he collects] and I found this cute set of Lusterware dessert dishes.

That's all for now!
